So as a diamond member for Hilton I have a good idea on how the Hampton Inn brand works. I also rarely complain as I do not have time to review every experience, but in this case I had to make an exception. I recently stayed at the Columbia MD location on Thanksgiving 2017 for a Redskins and Giants game. I was looking forward to the stay with my family. I checked out the hotel reviews online and noticed it was newer or recently refurbished. Upon check in the staff was friendly and they gave us a room on the 4th floor. We walked in to room 424 and noticed the temperature was low so we turned on the heat. We immediately noticed a strong burning smell of oil and called the front desk. They said the units were recently serviced and that sometimes oil or residue gets on the elements which causes the burning smell. They checked the room unit and agreed it was abnormal and changed our room. They moved us next door to room 422, at first everything seemed good the room was fine. Then we noticed several maybe 7 or 8 large horseflys at our window, not your average sized flys. These were large and nasty, once we found them they started flying around the room in a frenzy. As you can imagine the front desk was not pleased when my wife called to change the room again. The manager came up and could not believe it himself. So they moved us to room 416 down the hall, my wife and the manager checked it as I swatted down some of the buggers. So upon further inspection of the next room I noticed the dust and grime, marks on the walls, shower floor not clean, and no toiletries. I have to say the cleaning crew is absolutely the worst and a shame for such a new hotel. We ended up staying in the room but I would recommend that the management think about replacing or re-training the maintenance and cleaning crew.

Clean rooms, better- than- average Hampton breakfast, and an incredibly friendly staff. While there, take a walk around Lake Elkhorn -- very nice!

Front desk staff was unfriendly and rude. Made my wife feel uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone but Hampton Inn hotels are usually great. Sorry Hampton, bad employee

This place was really nice! Water was hot and had good pressure. Staff was nice. Air conditioning was nice and cold. Room was clean and the place was quiet. There's some food places real close if you don't wanna drive. I feel like it was in a safe area.

Large room. Large desktop for working. Plenty of outlets. Good wi-fi. Comfortable bed. Fridge and microwave. Could use a corkscrew and bottle opener. A bit dark - lighting could be improved. One small garbage bin. Small bath and shower.
