Promised 'Wifi while you wait' was invisible to me; they must have the router in the shop... I had to use my mobile hotspot instead.
Overall it was a good experience. I was a bit upset I had to spend more money on an upgraded key fob for my auto starter, but it is what it is. I am pretty excited about the auto start and they were nice and explained everything to me. So far so good.
Have not been there but whoever drives the company vehicle, drives like a maniac!!! For that reason I will never do business there! I have seen this person on multiple occasions, driving like a moron EVERY TIME! peeling wheels, flying down the road, cutting people off, cutting through parking lots instead of going up to the traffic light! If you have someone representing your company/advertising they should be driving in a decent manner..
I had a great experience with The Audio Connection. Last year, I purchased a 1980s 4Runner and needless to say, it needed a lot of 'updating.' I took the vehicle in and spoke with Bill, who scheduled me for a head unit upgrade along with new speakers/subwoofer and an electronic door lock system. I also got a backup camera installed.
Willie (sp?) worked on my vehicle and he really knew what he was doing. Everything was installed perfectly...and this on a truck from the 1980s with brittle plastic everywhere! I will note that at the time, all the installers had over 10 years of experience...this is impressive in this day of fast staff turn-over.
All was good until I had some bodywork done on my vehicle elsewhere and a few things were moved around and this 'upset' the position of the backup camera. I called and Sean (manager) set up an appointment for me.
I am here to echo the comment made before mine. I made an appointment for a simple amp install. I made an appointment three days prior. I was told installation would take 2 to 3 hours. I dropped the car off, 2 hours later I received phone call explaining that a tech had called out sick and the job could not be completed . They gave me the option of coming back the next day or making another appointment. I returned to discuss options. When I arrived I was left to wait in the reception area for over 20 minutes to get any further info. This wouldn't have been a big deal but the owner was no more than 10 feet from me the entire time while making a sale with a new client. He could've easily acknowledged my presence and explained that he would be with me soon. That never happened, instead a tech came back and explained that they hadn't even began the install. So in summation: for at least 2 hours they knew that this job could not have been completed and I was left with out any information, just waiting around the area killing time. I had taken the afternoon off of work for this, and at the very least I deserved a better explanation and some basic courtesy.
He worked on my vehicle himself and corrected the video camera issue as well as replacing a broken brake bulb...the fee for the service was very reasonable.
I found The Audio Connection to be a nicely run shop with a small business feel to it. The staff is knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I would return without hesitation.
$180 in labor to install a head unit with steering wheel controls. Make sure you get a quote before agreeing to anything. I wish I did... I probably would've gone to Best Buy or something instead.
