When you stop by say hi to Tom for us. (He really knows his stuff)
When it came time to teach my child how to ride, I decided that it was time to get back in the saddle--literally. I was nervous and intimidated about going to a bike shop, especially one that catered to true enthusiasts.
My wife and I have had a great experience at Race Pace. It is unusual to have such a great shopping experience.
I use to race road and mountain bike more than 20 years ago, but haven't kept riding. I have wanted to start riding again for a long time, so I was excited when my wife suggested we go get bikes. We shopped at several other stores, but Race Pace had the most knowledgeable staff and took time to help select the right bike and right gear.
Let's just say that I'm not a cycling enthusiast. I hadn't ridden a bike since middle school, which was... uh.... more than a decade ago.
I had the option to buy a lightly used bike that would certainly have met my needs for substantially less money, but the shopping experience I had with these guys coupled with the confidence I have that they will be there after the sale to deal with any issues made me happy to part with the extra money.
RACE PACE in columbia ROCKS! I took my bike in for a brake repair. A race pace employee met me in the parking lot before I even got to the door. They explained and fixed the problem in 5 minutes. He even helped me load the bike in the car. Thank You Race Pace. Wonderful customer service!☺
When it's time to get my growing son another bike, I will definitely go back to Race Pace.
I just bought my first new bike in a very long time from Race Pace in Columbia, a Trek Domane, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the bike. But I am even more satisfied with the EXPERIENCE I had in this shop. In my multiple visits to the shop, I dealt with Ben, Mark, Steve and Alex. All were equally helpful, knowledgeable, and patient as I asked a million questions about endurance bikes in general. When I wanted to test ride, they encouraged me to take my time and go as far and long as I needed to get a good feel for each bike. While they suggested various bikes with better features, they never tried to "upsell" me on things I didn't want or need. When I finally pulled the trigger to buy, they took the time not only to make sure the bike fit, but to make small and sometimes difficult tweaks to ensure that the bike was setup exactly how I wanted it.
Awesome bike store. If you are into cycling, this is the place to go.. These folks love cycling and it shows. They are SO willing to share, guide and teach.
I really appreciated how there was no pressure to buy, only a willingness to make sure our venture back into biking went well. The patience they showed was amazing.
Not only were the folks at Race Pace friendly, they didn't talk down to me or try to sell me anything I didn't want or need. They listened to what I was looking for, suggested accessories, and patiently talked me through the basics. I left the shop with a new Trek bike, feeling good about my rediscovered hobby. My husband, having seen how they treated me, ended up buying a bike to replace his as well.
We have stopped back several times now and every time they have remembered my wife, my son and my name.
i visited several other shops in my search for this bike, and I can say that you will not find a better bike buying experience in the area than at Race Pace!!
