I had the most horrible and offensive experience with this spa (in particular the owner of this spa.) I had been going to this spa for years. My family used to get me gift cards at least once a year. My husband purchased a gift card for me for me about a year ago for a one hour massage. I finally had time to schedule an appointment and much to my disappointment on the day of the appointment I completely forgot that I had an appointment. As an aside, this spa does NOT provide reminder calls or e-mails. According to the owner, "we never do that." I rarely forget appointments but I am not perfect. On occasion, it has happened. I do find that reminder calls and/or emails are helpful. In any case, my appointment was supposed to be for 11am and the spa called me at 11:15am reminding me of my appointment. I was very apologetic and I asked if I could still be seen or if I should reschedule. I was told I could still be seen. I rushed over to the spa and arrived around 11:30am. When I arrived I was then told I could only be seen for a 1/2 hour. I asked if I could reschedule so that I could get a full hour and I was told I would have to pay out-of-pocket for the whole session that I missed. The manager then became involved and she told me we were going to lose out on money regardless because if I left I was going to have to pay for the missed session and if I stayed I wasn't going to get a full hour and she would not work me in any way on ensuring that we got the full value of the gift card that had already been paid for. She told me it was my fault for not being "responsible." This was my punishment I guess. She also kept telling me to go back and have the massage even if it was only for a 1/2 hour or 15 minutes or however long I had left. She said we were wasting time talking and I could at least have a little bit of time for a massage. I told her I wanted to make sure I was not going to lose the value of what we already paid to which she said there was no way to avoid losing the value of the gift card. She said she would NOT work with me at all. She then again told me that I was adult and that I should be responsible enough to not miss appointments. She told me I was rude for forgetting my appointment and that I wasted the time of the massage therapist and now the massage therapist was not going to get paid. I told her that it WAS my fault that I forgot the appointment and that I resented the implication that I was "irresponsible" and intentionally trying to be "rude." She then asked in a condescending manner if I could "put myself in the massage therapist's place and see how she must feel." The owner then grabbed my arm and started pushing me back toward the massage room saying: "just use the remainder of your time it seems like you could REALLY use a massage." I had to pull myself out of her grip and I told her that after this experience I definitely needed a massage but there was no way I was going to get one from this spa ever again. The owner of the spa is rigid and completely inflexible. Her behavior today was completely inappropriate. She was condescending verbally and even felt physically violated with her grabbing and pushing me. I have been coming to this spa for years and have never missed or been late to an appointment before. I always enjoyed my experiences at this spa and found the massages wonderful. I take full responsibility for forgetting and arriving late to my appointment. However, I would have liked to have seen a willingness to work with me in regards to the gift card that had already been paid for and purchased. I will never return to this spa and in good faith can no longer recommend this spa to others.
The massage was crappy. I have been there on several occasions and service keeps getting worse. The reflexology massage by this older heavy set Caucasian lady was the worse. Not worth $2.00.
I've been going here for years and I never ever experienced the rudeness some people are complaining about. Staff has always been professional, friendly and courteous. They have a collection of good massage therapists and I can usually call and get in on the same day.
Stay away from this place!! Seriously...this was the worst massage experience I have EVER had! Their temporary space (this is their 2ND fire) is an unattractive house with oddly placed furniture...the hot stone burned me (I do not have sensitive skin and this has NEVER happened). .she ended up just skipping the stones for a sub par massage) so I cut it shirt by fifteen minutes. To top it all off they refused to accept the SpaWeek gift card despite their company showing up on the website advertising the companies who participate with them. Seriously...STAY AWAY!!!
Relaxing atmosphere. The best prices around and everyone that works there is great. I'm positive that you'll leave satisfied every time.
