There are lots of pokestops along the lake, several gyms, and we consistently have Pokemon activity.

This is my favorite lake in Columbia. It is always peaceful. Make sure you are hydrated if your going to walk the lake . It has alot off cool fish, birds and turtles . You never know what else you will see.

Nice walk well kept. I thought it was a loop but it didnt seem to be when i actually started walking it. A good amount of parking and its close to the mall but not too busy

The bird watching is very good. We have regular visits from great blue herons, bluebirds, and orioles, and the bald eagles that live in Howard county sometimes visit as well.

Nice park and good fishing. Unfortunately an archaic rule is set which prevents fishing to part of the lake. The guise of this rule is to protect black swans. In my many years of fishing this lake, i have never seen a black swan. The truth is, the residents around the lake dont like fisherman. On one hand I could understand as some people are not respectful of property and could leave trash. On the other hand, this is is a nice neighborhood and there are plenty of trash cans and daily maintenance to keep it clean. It should be no different than Lake Elkhorn since all of Columbians' pay for the parks, everyone should have full access.

I know of several professional photographers who use the park for portrait taking, as there are lots of different backgrounds, both natural and rustic (the buildings are old barns).

The park sits at one end of Wilde Lake, a small man made lake in downtown Columbia. There is a path that takes you all the way around the lake (approx 1.5 miles) and a large field with picnic tables.

The wildlife here is amazing! I've seen baby red eared sliders and painted turtles, snapping turtles, black crowned night herons, green herons, great blue herons and more! I love it!
