Initial experience was amazing. Teachers are those that you desire for your infant child. We had issues with the management (as did many of our friends who had children attending TYS). All of the reviews are from a drive they did to obtain reviews and raffled away a free summer (or year?) of tuition.

We recommend the Young School to anyone.

Out infant son has been going to the young school in kings contrivance for five months now and we are extremely happy with the care and education he gets there. We toured several daycare facilities but in the end found that we preferred the environment and teaching philosophy of the Young School and we have not been disappointed. We look forward to him going through the full program as he gets older.

My little one has attended The Young School at Kings Contrivance location and has loved it since day one. She started when she was 18 months and is now 3 and has had the same teacher. The teachers have a choice to rotate with their existing class, and we have been lucky to have the same great teacher through out her tenure. All the teachers seem very friendly including the staff in the front office and they always greet you with smiles every morning. The philosophy deployed at the school is a very good one where they let your child, play and explore the cottages they reside in. They spend a great time outside exploring and changing the rooms with different themes per season. I and my little one have enjoyed the experience.

Do NOT do business with these dishonest crooks. When registering with the school they require a $50 non refundable deposit to hold your place. The staff member recommended that I also go ahead and pay the first month up front ($825), even though we weren't sure of a start date. Less than a week later we decided that the school was a little too pricey and would not fit in our budget. When we informed the school that we would not be attending they refused to refund ALL of our money. I never intended to get the $50 back, but certainly didn't expect to lose the $825. Then I started receiving regular bills detailing thousands of dollars of incurred costs with faulty balance sheets, where they seem to have 'graciously' credited me for services that they never provided, but were subsequently billed. After many attempts to reason with them, requests to talk, emails, and phone calls (all cordial and evenly toned) I finally got an email back from the owner, basically saying that their policy is not to refund money under any circumstance. I even went as far as to request mediation and he never even responded to my requests. If they treat the children with the disrespect that they treat potential customers, and potential referrers, then I would NEVER take my child there. Frankly, I think there is reason to question all of their money handling a if they so desperately need money that they are willing to steal money and claim it's for services that they never provided. Please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to see examples of the outrageous bills before you take your loved one to this establishment. And please do not pay them any more than the required deposit if you still choose to attend. Your money is NOT safe here!

Our son will be starting at The Young School in Kings Contrivance in just a few weeks and we couldn't be more excited.

The teachers are truly great in the ways they interact with even the youngest children, treating them with respect and "listening" to them. Their patience is remarkable. He gets to explore and play at his own pace, while also providing a schedule and structure to help the infants adjust to their routine. Our son is always happy when we pick him up and we have no doubt he has enjoyed his day there. The teachers engage even the youngest infants in a range of activities to stimulated their development, such as painting, playing with fabrics, bubbles or natural objects.

When we toured the school we were very impressed from the moment we walked in the door. The front entrance seemed very secure and our son was immediately drawn to a wooden xylophone just in front of the office. Our tour guide knew absolutely everything about the school and is a cottage director herself. Her cottage (meadow) was beautiful and so creative, but all the others were wonderful too. Our son found things that interested him in each room we walked through. The school is also much more spacious than others we visited and toured.

The other thing that completely sold us on the school is the learning philosophy that allows kids to learn based on their interests instead of a strict academic curriculum that doesn't encourage creativity or individuality. We are very excited for him to start his Young School journey at the end of the summer.
